Privacy & Cookie Policy

Sugarloom & Swirl is an editorial confectionery studio, not a shop. We publish candy stories, flavor guides and crafting notes — and we keep our website as simple and transparent as our ingredient list.

1. Introduction

This policy explains what happens when you read the Sugarloom & Swirl website. In short: we do not run tracking scripts, we do not sell or share reader information, and the only thing we remember locally is whether you have seen this notice.

The studio promise: if you can read this site with JavaScript disabled, nothing about your visit is recorded.

2. Data We Handle

We receive and store only what your browser keeps on your own device:

  • Consent preference — a small flag in your browser's local storage recording that you accepted the cookie notice.
  • No analytics. No page-view counters, no fingerprints, no advertising identifiers.
  • No account data. There are no accounts, checkouts or sign-up forms on this site.

3. Cookie Notice

This website does not set HTTP cookies. The interactive cookie banner instead writes a single entry to your browser's local storage (key: sugarloom-swirl-cookie-consent) so the banner stays hidden on your next visit. Clearing your browser storage removes it automatically.

If you click “Accept sweet updates,” the banner hides for this browser. The choice is stored locally only — nothing leaves your device.

4. Local Storage & Session Details

  1. The preference flag is stored in local storage, scoped to this website's origin only.
  2. It never contains personal details — only the word “accepted.”
  3. It expires only when you clear storage or ask us to (see Section 6).
  4. Private browsing sessions may discard it automatically; the banner simply reappears, which is harmless.

5. Third Parties

This static website is served without third-party scripts, fonts, images or trackers. The only external-looking reference anywhere in the code is the standard SVG namespace declaration inside image files — a technical identifier, not a connection. If we ever add a service, we will update this policy first.

6. Your Rights

You can remove the consent flag at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser settings, or by contacting us and we will gladly walk you through it. You may also read this site with JavaScript disabled — every article remains available.

Questions about privacy? Write the studio at sugarloom.swirl@gmail.com and we'll reply like real people.

7. Policy Updates

We refresh this policy when the studio changes how it runs — which, given our ingredient-first philosophy, is rare. Any update will be posted here with a new effective date at the top of the sidebar.
